If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know that I took part in a Web Design contest by WorldSkills UK in 2021 and managed to get to Top 9 but I also re-entered in the competition at the beginning of 2022.
The same stages of showing your competence in designing a website with Photoshop or other photo editing piece of software, then making a website with HTML and CSS took place this time alongside with a quiz.
I managed to qualify as Top 8 UK in Web Design this time!
Now the fun part begins 🙂
This time, I was informed that the WorldSkills UK Finals will take place somewhere close to Newcastle. The location itself was Middlesbrough College with a approximate distance of 280 miles!
All and all, I was met with the same sort of friendliness as the last time and the college was kind enough to offer us a quick tour around their brand new building! I felt overwhelmed this time by almost everything and I took it as a new experience as it was the first time going in another city with a contest. I met yet another group of amazing people that took part in the contest and competed with me but also their teachers and it was also nice to get to know them when we were not competing!
I really enjoyed the November 2022 WorldSkills UK Finals as much as I did the first time around in November 2021 and I am grateful for everyone I have met and for those that supported me along the way!
This article was written more as a public message of gratitude for everyone that helped me from my family who supported me right from the start to the members of staff at Weston College and UCW but also as small entry on this blog for myself to remember this period of my life. 🙂
